Dennis Peterson

Dennis S. Peterson was born on January 24, 1954 in California and passed away on November 28, 1970 almost making it to his 17th birthday. I remember Dennis mostly because so many other kids made fun of him. As I recall, Dennis had a bad complexion due to a bad liver condition. I think that I heard he died due to this condition.

It is too bad that kids were mean and unkind to him, especially since he did not get to live a full life. Hopefully, some of those individals who were unkind learned a lesson to be kind to everyone, if not, I'm sure it has already come back to haunt them or will some day.

I was one of Dennis's friends along with Will (B.J.) Cook (Will dropped out, has anyone heard about him?). We would go over to Dennis's house and play all day with his electronic equipment he had set up in his basement. Dennis was very bright and had a wonderfully sardonic sense of humor. He never harbored resentment (or at least never mentioned it) towards those who looked away, he was much more mature than most of us (definitely me). While his is a sad story not all of it was bad, he did have friends that cared, regardless of his outer shell.

For Dennis I Pray:

"God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your Providence guides our lives, and by Your Command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your Presence, their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for Dennis and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ, Who died and now lives, may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever. Amen."
