Different places you have lived:

In chronological order: Texas; NJ; Alaska; So Cal; Princeville, Hawaii; Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, Denver, CO; Detroit MI; Philadelphia PA; and now Gulfport FL. I spent 6 months in Europe during the So Cal years, but I was constantly on the move (covered 14,000 miles) so there is no one place I lived during that time. I will always be, no matter where I live, a Southern California girl at heart.

I still have family that lives in/near South Pasadena:

Nope

Comments:

Can someone please remove that horrible yearbook photo? Pretty please???

I REALLY look forward to seeing pics after each and every reunion!

Post High School Education:

Biology major at PCC and Cal State LA.

School Story:

More restless itchy feet. I've spent time at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, PCC, Cal State LA, Grossmont College, San Diego State, and Colorado Mountain College. I've taken online classes....still no degree. Some day!

My favorite "school days" hang outs or other places:

Garfield Park, the Rose Parade (evening before more than the parade itself), Taco Treat, Trader Joes, Joe's Pizza.

Taco Treat was the place you always ran into someone you knew.

Memories about other schools you attended in So.Pas:

Zero!

Do you get back to South Pasadena?

Not yet

SPHS graduates I keep in touch with:

Paul Jurkowski

What I always wanted to do that I haven’t done yet:

Teach English as a foreign language in an exotic location; travel to Argentina, Brazil, Australia, and Costa Rica.

My "Goals in Life" or "Hopes & Dreams":

Goals: keep learning, continue exploring, eventually finish my BS.

Hopes and dreams: for my sons to be happy, healthy, and fulfilled adults, again to finish my BS - I'll be a 90-year-old graduate!

What or who influenced you most back in high school?

The flower child, peace-nik, movement was enormously influential. The Teachings of Gautama Buddha was the most influential book I read. All the amazing musicians of the era (Steppenwolf, Jethro Tull, the Ramones, the Who, Ten Years After - I could go on forever) instilled in me a life-long love of music.

What bands or songs were your favorite back then?

Hendrix (saw him at Newport ‘69) in Reseda, Steppenwolf, Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles, The Who, Cat Stevens, Harry Nilsson, the Kinks, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Ten Years After, and so on and so forth.

What musicians, songs or albums would be on your playlist today?

Everything from the 1960s to now, leaning heavily toward alternative, Latin music, and pop. Latest found loves include the Struts, Walk the Moon, Foster the People, and Saint Motel.

Hobbies/Activities/Pastimes in High School:

Baseball at Dodger Stadium, Thunderchicken soccer games, concerts, peace rallies, hanging out in Garfield Park.

Hobbies/Activities/Pastimes TODAY:

Travel: Guatemala, Ireland, Holland, Czech Republic, NYC were recent destinations; Costa Rica planned for the end of this year.

Music: still play the piano and attend concerts (most recently Peter Noone, Cracker, Saint Motel, the Struts, Walk the Moon, and Pink Martini)

Pets: I have a cockatiel named Rocky, and two lovable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Dodger and Miki.

Photography: I'm not tremendously knowledgable or talented, but I love it!

Theatre: Recently saw A Midsummer Night's Dream, Wicked, and the cast of Wicked doing a benefit performance of the Rocky Horror Show. ALSO had a couple of bit parts in an independent film that may or may not ever be released.

Words: TOTAL word nerd! Love the NY Times crossword puzzle, and am completely addicted to Words With Friends.

Organizations or groups you belonged to in school:

The German Club. Ha.

A time machine takes you back to 1970-1972, what would you change?

I was painfully shy back then; my six month trip to Europe cured me of that. I think HS would have been much more fun had I been less shy.

What's happening in my life now:

Work, work, and more work.
